Halloween Event

We were stoked at the huge Stanley Marketplace Trick-or-Treat turnout! We passed out over 2500 pieces of candy and are very thankful for the help of Jennifer’s mom (Frida Kahlo) and daughter (the Cactus) for passing out candy at Cheluna.

El Patio + Día de los Muertos

We are just waiting on some site plan drawing changes to submit to the City of Aurora so that we can begin construction of our beer shed out back, which we promise is still in the works. ¡Patiencia! You’ll notice that we’ll be putting together an altar for Día de los Muertos in our taproom, and you can read more about that Mexican tradition here. We’ve approached Stanley about sponsoring community altars in the Marketplace in October 2019, and we’ll keep you posted on that idea. Please join us on November 2 when our amigas and sisters Adriana and Anna Gonzales will be making sugar skulls and hosting a Nacho Libre viewing party!

Come Plogging with Us - Oct. 27

Our September plogging event was a big success and a lot of fun! Collectively we picked up over 100 bags of trash on our 3 mile loop from the Stanley Marketplace, and we’re once again plogging on the morning of October 27. Our friends from Runner’s Roost Stapleton and Colorado Outward Bound will be joining us, too, and we hope you’ll join us in this community building activity and effort. Micheladas will be on our post-plogging menu!

Introducing Beso de Vino!

Today we introduce Beso de Vino, our new 10.5% ABV hybrid beer. Why hybrid, you ask? Belgian strong pale ale malt, New England style IPA hops, and wine yeast were used to create this aromatic, complex, and high gravity goodness. Beso de Vino translates to ‘kiss of wine’, a nod to the dry finish and wine notes that we hope you’ll love as much as we do!

Cheluna Takes Bronze Medal in 2018 GABF!

What better way to bring home Great American Beer Festival bling than by collaborating with our Cheluna Homie Brewer Chris Cardillo for the Bronze medal? We are humbled by our medal and very proud to provide community opportunities for our local home brewers, like Chris, and many others. We’re planning a May 2019 homebrewing competition, which gives you plenty of time to refine your favorite beer recipe, amigos! We are so grateful for Eric, Chris, and for all of your support. Stop in for a sip of La Bomba if you haven’t already; we hope to see you muy pronto! Photo by Ross Wallace Check out the news here!

Introducing Brewer Eric Nichols!

We are super stoked to introduce Eric Nichols, brewer extraordinaire and fiancee of sous chef at Annette! Eric's love for fermentation began in college when he first made wine in his college dorm room. Despite studying and working in Finance for a few years, Eric fell back into love with yeast and received formal brewing education from the Siebel Institute. After a stint at various other breweries such as Black Shirt, Avery, and Beryl's, he has joined our team here at Cheluna!

Plogging with Cheluna! - Sept. 11

Come plogging with us on Tuesday, September 11 from 5:30-7:30pm! Read more about plogging and its origins below, and about our plogging event here. Join us as we clean up and connect through this service opportunity!

What is plogging?
Have you ever heard of "plogging"? If you love running and don't love seeing trash all over your streets, you should! According to Wikipedia:

"Plogging is a combination of jogging with picking up litter (Swedish: plocka upp). It started as an organised activity in Sweden around 2016 and spread to other countries in 2018, following increased concern about plastic pollution. As a workout, it provides variation in body movements by adding bending, squatting and stretching to the main action of running."

Join us for an evening of "Plocka upp" and half off pint beer for our runners at Cheluna Brewing Company. Three things we love all in one place!!

International IPA Day - August 2-5

With summer well under our belts we are excited about International IPA day, which is Thursday, August 2. To celebrate, we’re creating five one-off versions of our popular Pálida IPA that we think you’re going to love. The first of these sixtels (a sixtel is 1/6 the size of a normal keg of beer, and holds about five gallons, or about 40 pints of beer). We will release one new sixtel of the five different varieties of IPA each day, beginning Thursday, August 2. Stop in a try a pint; you’re in for a treat! Monday, August 5, will be the final day of our Five Days of IPA, and as always, please stay tuned to our social media for details related to the varieties.

La Bomba – Coming Mid-August!

Mid-August will bring the release of our Great American Beer Festival Pro-Am competition beer, which we brewed with one of our Cheluna Homie Brewers, Chris Cardillo. Chris began brewing 3 years ago, and after he and his brewing partner knocked out 27 brews in 12 months, he knew that brewing beer was a serious hobby. Chris attended the inaugural Cheluna Homie Brewers meeting and is stoked to be a part of this year’s GABF Pro-Am Competition as part of team Cheluna. For Chris, homebrewing is a near-perfect mix of creativity and science, and he enjoys the challenge of refining his beer making skills.

La Bomba Belgian Blonde is based on a gold medal winning beer that Chris entered in the Halfpenny Brewing Homebrew Competition in May. La Bomba is a crisp, refreshing blonde ale with Belgian yeast character and a hint of orange, coriander, and cardamom. Stay tuned to our social media outlets for our release of La Bomba, and perhaps you’ll get to meet Chris in our taproom and share a pint with him!

'El Patio' Coming Soon!

Wondering about our beer shed on the West Stanley patio? The wait is almost over! We are working every day to make the patio, which we lovingly refer to as ‘El Patio’, a reality. We owe a great deal of thanks to Stanley JV, the City of Aurora, and the State of Colorado, for helping us plough through the process of licensing El Patio de Cheluna out back. The process of opening our taproom inside of Stanley was a great lesson in patience, tenacity and persistence, and we are sure that it’s not only going to be worth the wait, but that you’re going to love El Patio, too!

Sand Creek Volunteer Day - After Party!

At noon on August 11 we are hosting the after party for the Sand Creek Volunteer Day, which you can read more about here. Held in conjunction with our friends at Runners Roost Stapleton and Sand Creek Regional Greenway, this is a great opportunity for families spend a morning volunteering, exercising and having fun together.

One of our favorite musical acts, Rudy Grant, is donating their time and talent to provide the entertainment in our taproom afterward, where you can enjoy a pint of beer or kombucha, and a portion of the proceeds will be given back to Sand Creek. ¡Órale!
