When weather permits, you’ll find us out west in Casita Azul, serving out of our jockey box while we work on finishing out the beer shed! Hope to see you out there next weekend! You can always grab your favorite Cheluna chela inside our humble taproom in a common consumption cup and head out there, or purchase it straight from Casita Azul!
Esperanza’s Grapefruit Wit is our April first Friday beer release, and Belga con Pasión is back on tap! Stay tuned to our social media for upcoming releases of two snazzy new IPAs we’ve brewed (think wine and fruit infused brut rosé), along with Carmelita’s Vienna Lager & Salted Caramel, which will be gracing our taps again, también!
We had a great time at the Colorado Brewer’s Guild 2019 Collaboration Festival, and we hope you’re able to enjoy the Mexican German Chocolate Cake Eisbock we brewed in collaboration with Prost, and both versions of Über La Luna Margarita Gose we brewed with Überbrew, who traveled from Billings, Montana to brew with us and then again to attend the festival! Many thanks to Tristan Chan for the Porchdrinking.com mention, viewed here.

We’re pretty stoked that February 1 falls on a Friday, because we’re releasing our newest beer that day - a delicious Dunkelbock! Stop in for a pint and enjoy happy hour $1 off pints (como siempre) and special performance of live music from 4 to 6 p.m. by a jazz group from Denver School of the Arts, followed by our regular 7 p.m. live music. Supporting local musicians is one of our passions, and we thank you for helping us providing a warm and lively craft beer and arts venue!
Our other new beer debut, Chupaguava, snuck onto our tap handle this past week, and she’s become a best seller already. A 5.5% blonde with guava, Chupaguava has aromatic nose and crisp finish that makes her highly crushable. Look for a hibiscus version of this beautiful blonde ale soon!
We’re working on our beers for Collaboration Festival 2019, which you can read more about here. We’ll be brewing our 2nd collaboration beer next week with our amigos at Pröst, and look forward to attending on March 16. Our friends from Überbrew drove down last month to brew our out of state collaboration, and we’re feeling very optimistic about both of these beers, which will be announced as we approach the date of the Collaboration Festival. Stay tuned! Two other beer festivals where you’ll find us pouring our beer: RUNDERBREW in Denver on February 16, and SAVOR in Washington D.C. in May. Hope to see you at one or all three of these fun craft beer festivals!

Door and window installation, along with interior build out of our beer shed is on the docket this coming month. Set out the doors on the West side of Stanley (between our amigos Comida and Sweet Cow) and take a peek at our tiny but beautiful Casita Azul. We look forward to serving outside soon, and will keep you posted on build out and licensing progress. Many thanks to Stanley JV and the City of Aurora for allowing us to build Casita Azul out back, and thanks for your patience. We’ll see and serve you out there muy pronto!
We look forward to 2019 with excitement and gratitude for our ‘Casita Azul’ beer shed, which can now be seen near the West Stanley Marketplace entrance. Over the coming weeks and months you’ll get updates on our progress building out the interior of Casita Azul, which we hope to have fully licensed and operational by February/March 2019. ¡Órale! Javi and Eric (the GOAT) celebrated shed construction by kegging off our Chula Kölsch and enjoying a pint - it’s delicious and is our newest beer release. We’re currently fermenting several brand new beers that you can expect to see in the coming weeks and months: Resilience Butte County Proud IPA, a guava blonde ale, a dunkelbock, and a delicious Oud Bruin Belgian sour with plum! #chelunalove
Many thanks to our friend Dustin of The Brewtography Project for including the awesome photo of Eric below in his Instagram post related to Resilience Butte County Proud IPA. We will soon be transferring our batch of Resilience and plan to release it January 1. All proceeds from the sale of this delicious IPA will be donated directly to the Camp Fire relief fund. Read more about this effort here.
Collaboration Fest 2019 finds us working with two breweries we love: Überbrew out of Montana, and Prost right here in Denver! Pictured below are Eric & Javi with Chad and Mark from our Überbrew collaboration brew day recently.
We’ve also begun bottling our beer in 22 ounce ‘bombers’, which we will be offering for sale in our taproom, and eventually will be in select liquor stores. Our 32 ounce crowler cans will still be available for purchase, and you’ll notice they will very soon have a new look! Here is a photo of our new label, which we hope you like as much as we do. Poco a poco.
We will close early December 24th and 31st*, close for the 25th, but hope to see you all on January 1st when we will open early (11:00am) for football game viewing all day! Many thanks for allowing us to begin our third year of business serving you and making small batches of great craft beer. Our beer shed is being built, and look forward to another pachanga when that’s ready to open. As always, stay tuned to our Facebook, Instagram, and website for information related to the shed and all of our Cheluna goings on!
*Closing at 4:00pm on Dec. 31st

Anyone is welcome to join the Cheluna Homie Brewer group, whether you have a lot of brewing experience or none at all. The easiest way to go about connecting with our Homie Brewers is via the Cheluna Homie Brewer Facebook page here (or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org). ¡Órale!
You’ll notice we’ve installed 12 new tap handles, just in time for our 2 year anniversary pachanga! This Saturday, December 1, join us for salsa lessons with Sisy Ayala at 5, Mariachi Los Correcaminos at 6, and Miguel Dakota at 7:30, along with many special beer releases, including our GABF pro-am medal winning beer, La Bomba, made in collaboration with Cheluna Homie Brewer Chris Cardillo!
Carol of the Beers returns December 16 at 4:00pm, with Cat Paz on the keys and Nicole leading the vocals! This is a great way to sing or enjoy the community of singing in a relaxed and spirited setting – last year we raised the roof and we expect a repeat performance again this year. Many thanks to our amigo Arlen Herschberger for his help organizing music and community support for this festive and popular event!
